In 2016 we produced a chapbook edition of Lianne Strauss's poem, 'The Translation'. This specially commissioned piece is about reversals and mirroring in language. Setting the type produced another interesting set of inversions and substitutions on top of this, a sort of accidental supplement to the poem itself.
We ended up with various different iterations of Strauss's poem, as we painstakingly erased errors and replaced letters.
The end result was still pleasingly imperfect. A numbered set of 13, each handstitched and with a linotype illustration by Gill Partington.
